Merry Christmas 2011

I know this post is a little late but here is our Christmas cards.  I say cards because we actually sent out three different cards.  Long story long but that is the story.  And since I'm illiterate with the technology department I just put the pictures on instead of scanning the actual cards (plus we don't have anymore).

Winsor Top 10, 2011

10.  Wyatt started sports class-and he's jumping, and jumping, and jumping.  He is quite the runner and enjoys practicing his latest with us.
9.  Wyatt discovered a lot of new words and he is repeating them very frequently.  It is safe to say he inherited his conversation abilities from his mom.
8.  Summer of 2011-still a blur for Jason-Kate & Wyatt were gone so long that Jason was worried they permanently moved to Utah (the AZ summer heat is killer).
7.  Kate started a fashion blog and is awaiting the big bucks from sponsors, so Jason can be a stay-at-home dad....it is a cool blog so check it out....www.addictedtodietcoke.blogspot.com.
6.  Speaking of stay-at-home.  Jason still gets to telecommute on Fridays, and still works for UOPX.
5.  Disney again, Newport Beach again, the cabin in Prescott again...Family travel traditions keep on.
4.  Romantic Kauai- Jason and Kate's first big getaway without Wyatt...enough said.
3.  Wyatt decided his Halloween costume in June.  He was Jake the Pirate and somehow talked the rest of us into being a family of pirates.  And yes we did wear a family shirt to Disneyland.  We are becoming "that" family, and we love it.
2.  Kate completed her 2nd 1/2 marathon. (Jason=1, Kate=2, Wyatt=0)
1.  Wyatt, Kate & Jason's time together keeps getting better and better.

We are grateful for this time of year to think about our Savior, Jesus Christ and his birth.  We are blessed with family and friends in our life who fill it with joy.

Happy Holidays!
Jason, Kate, and Wyatt Winsor

Santa 2011

We stopped by to pay a visit to Santa and guess who didn't even cry. That's right, our first successful Santa visit. Wyatt made sure to tell Santa everything on his list....including ALL of the racecars from Cars 2. Yes, he included all the names.  This Santa was so great and totally legit.  Doesn't he look real?  I was so proud of my little guy for being so brave.

Cute things to remember

As the year draws to a close and before I do my 2011 Blog Book, I wanted to write a few more Wyattisms.

First, I'm not sure if I mentioned this on the blog but we fixed our doorbell awhile ago and Wyatt loves to ring it constantly.  He knows exactly where the box is where the sound comes out.  Can you guess that he helped Jason install it?

Second, Wyatt thinks he can read.  Whenever he sees words/letters on the ground when we are walking or on trucks he says, "Mommy, it says, 'Don't run!" or whatever he makes up.  My favorite is whenever he wears his tie to church.  There is a tag on the bag and one day he said, "Mommy, it says..."We go to church."  I died of laughter.  So, of course, he does it every Sunday now.

Last, but not least, I just love hearing him sing the "Clean Up Song."  You know, the one all the kids learn in nursery.  I love it not just for the fact that he is cleaning up his toys but when he is almost done cleaning up he ends the song by saying, "everybody do your share," but the tone of voice goes down like you are ending a song.  It is so funny because he totally does it normal the whole time until the end.  So adorable if I must say so myself.

That wraps it up.

Ornaments 2011

We had our Annual Ornament Search FHE this year with the rest of the Church Family.  Here are all the cousins at Target picking their latest ornaments.

and here is our loot:

fashion gal: because I've really added to my fashion sense this year
angry birds: ??...cool looking
Finn McMissile:  would you expect anything else from Wyatt?

Shamu, Mickey and Friends

Jason's sister surprised her family with a trip to Sea World and Disneyland so we decided to tag along.  We took yet another trip to Disneyland.  Yes, we love that place so please don't judge.  But I see our days at Disney are dying because now we have to pay for our "big" 3 year old.

Doesn't this picture make you smile?  I know Disneyland makes me smile this big but when it is your kid it makes me smile even bigger.  Wyatt was asked to be the King of the ride.  They asked him his name and he said, "Wyatt Jason Winsor."  They asked him if it was okay just to call him Wyatt.  Of course, he obliged.  He was so excited!  He also had the time of his life with his cousins.

This trip was different.  I felt like Toon Town was a thing of the past.  Wyatt rode on Matterhorn!  Seriously, my kid is growing up.  He just wanted to go on ride after ride.  Too bad he wasn't tall enough for any other big ride but he sure loved all the other ones. :)

Wyatt loved Sea World too!  Good thing because we have an annual pass now-long story but if anyone wants to go we are game.  Only one bad thing happened, Wyatt didn't get wet.  He was SO excited to sit in the soak zone but he never got wet.

Labor of Love

I sure love this sight!  Jason spent 4 hours putting this together for Wyatt.  That is what I call labor of love.  What a great dad he is!  We are so lucky.

Video of Wyatt's present

Wyatt's 3 Year Old Interview

On our birthdays, you get interviewed with a list of your favorites.  Wyatt's does not disappoint.  It is hilarious!  Can I just add that some of these things are NOT true.  It is whatever pops into his mind that day.  Here it goes:

Favorite food: corn dog (my sister tried to feed him one the other day and he HATED it so not sure why he said it)
Favorite sport: football
Favorite show: Little Einsteins
The thing I'm the best at: being a good helper
Favorite color: yellow
What he wants to be when he grows up: Jake (from the Disney Pirate show)
Favorite song: Lion King
Favorite book: CARS 2
Favorite store: Michael's (this one cracks me up because we hardly go there)
Favorite snack: Mott's (fruit snacks)
Favorite toy: Red the firetruck (new)
Favorite movie: CARS 2
Favorite thing to do outside: jump on tramp
Favorite restaurant: Ikea and Red Robin

This kid is also addicted to Pandora, McDonald's and Chickfila, sports class, and slurpees.

Wyatt's Third Birthday

Somebody had a birthday and is now the big 3!
He was so fun this year and wanted to know where his presents were. :)  As always, birthdays are celebrated the entire week so here are some of the festivities.

Cupcakes and singing Happy Birthday at the family dinner.  He has several cousins that have birthdays near him so we celebrate together.

On his actual birthday we went to Peter Piper Pizza.  All the kids were in heaven!  And can I just say it is the best way to throw a party.  Loved it!

No Thanksgiving or birthday hangovers could stop us from celebrating some more.  The next day we met at the park with the Winsor family for a picnic and some more fun.  Sadly I didn't get any pictures but I'll try to get some as we hang out the next week.

This little guy was super spoiled but he deserves it.  He is the cutest kid (and can I add funny and smart).  Seriously, love him!

Friday Plus-Nov. 18th

Here is our week in review:

I tried out the sock bun.  I'm totally in love.  But too bad I chopped my hair off a few hours later so I have to let it grow for awhile to do it again.  I used this tutorial here

We have done a lot of this. Trains, cars, then back to trains. Well, they finally united!

Kids can never leave one behind. Love it!

I've also been able to pamper myself so that is also a plus.
Have a great weekend!

Friday Plus-Nov. 11th

Happy Veteran's Day! Here is our week in pictures. Not too many but at least it is something.

I'm getting my hair done next week and wanted to check out the latest looks. I bought this magazine at Fry's for inspiration. Nothing stood out to me so I'll probably get the usual and be on my way. But I'm kind of wanting a bit of a change. We will see.

Last Saturday, Old Navy was having their winter coat sale. I took my son to buy new gear for the next two years (I buy big so it lasts). We will hopefully have a white Christmas this year so we were talking about building snowmen. He was so cute in the store trying on his coat and wanted to build a snowman right then and there. Sorry kid. Not in AZ! But he settled on making snowmen out of playdough that day. Can't wait for the real deal though.

I don't have a picture but I'm kind of in a somber mood tonight. My friend's house burned down last night. Luckily, they were out of town so everyone is safe but it is so sad to see them lose everything. Please keep the Webb Family in your prayers.

Vroom, Vroom!

Yes, Wyatt still is obsessed with Cars.  Luckily, he has a cousin that is equally obsessed and had a Cars birthday party.  The party was fully equipped with cars for each kid, a World Grand Prix racing course, pit stops with water, pizza, games, presents, and fun.  What more could kids ask for?  Every kid has this picture and it was so cute that I had to put it on my own blog for future reference.  Here he is ready for his race!

Friday Plus-Nov. 4th

Here is some of this week and last week happenings.

Wyatt loves the bouncy house. Good thing has gotten to enjoy them three times in the past two weeks. It has been at several parties we have gone to and we also went with some friends and spent a few hours jumping away. He was in little boy heaven.

Every Thursday we go to Kids' Club at the mall for singing time, playing, Chickfila, and free carousel ride. I'll be honest I usually just go for the Chickfila and that it is a practically free outing. Duper rode in the elevator with us so we had to grab a picture.

Wyatt got invited to a Happy "Owloween" party. It was fully equiped with a lesson on owls, bingo game, treats, and games. And don't forget two/three year olds. The mom is super woman and we got to leave them there for an hour. I kinda didn't know what to do with myself but don't worry I figured it out. :) When I picked him up he couldn't stop talking about owls.

I'm taking a class for credit for my recertification hours as a teacher. It is called Positive Discipline. I am really enjoying it. I'll be honest, I'm a Love and Logic fan all the way but there are some great concepts that I want to implement with this program. Who says you can't mix and match?

Here she is...FINALLY in the ground. I'll be honest, my husband and I disagree on this but for now (hopefully not for long) is how it will be. Please keep your fingers crossed he will want it even with the ground like me. :) Don't judge, our winter lawn is being put in as I type so it won't look this ugly.

Halloween 2011

We are slowly coming off of our sugar highs from this weekend and yesterday.  But our Halloween was the best yet!  Wyatt was so into it this year that it made it more fun for everyone.  But I was mostly proud of my hubby for dressing up like Captain Hook.  Doesn't he look stunning?   We had tons of fun at our Ward Halloween Party and trick or treating with cousins.  The best part is we hitched a ride with my brother on his golf cart and went around the neighborhood.  Let's just say that is THE.BEST.WAY. to trick or treat.  It's actually quite lazy but we got to hit more houses.  :)  Wyatt loved running to and fro, house to house, with his cousins.  He even went inside a garage haunted house, but quickly came out because it really was scary.  When we came to our house, he told all of his cousins we were at HIS house.  But when Jason opened the door, Wyatt yelled, "Trick or Treat," got his candy and ran away with his cousins.  No "hi" Daddy for Jason.  Can you tell this kid was excited ALL.NIGHT.LONG!  We hope you had as much fun as we did.

Big Boy Room

On Saturday, my baby finally became a legit big boy. We have had his room done for awhile but we took the gambit and moved him in over the weekend. He couldn't be happier. He was so excited to sleep in there that he even kicked me out before I was done talking to him. It is fully equipped with a nightlight because my husband tried putting him in one night (without my expertise) and Wyatt was scared.

So, I talked it up. Nightlight. We would move all his animals with him. You know the whole shabang! And when we started I decided to move everything else too. Clothes, diapers, etc. So it's official!

Here is the Big Boy Room Reveal.

I won't lie.  Now he always gets super excited for quiet time and bedtime.  Love it!

Friday Plus-Oct. 21st

Friday Plus- Oct. 21st. I'm so excited for tonight. We get to go to our first Halloween party so you will for sure have to come back next week for some reveals of my costume. Hope you have a great weekend!

I wore my hair back this week, a rare occurence. I swear it takes me longer to do it messy than to just do it normal. It actually stayed in.

We had a puppet show this week. Luckily for me I have tons of puppets from my teaching days and from just collecting them over the years. Then on Sunday we watched Pinocchio and Wyatt put two and two together. He loved it.

Our friend came over for dinner and brought me flowers.  How sweet!

ASU, ASU!

We took Wyatt to an ASU game earlier this season.  Although the start time was near Wyatt's bedtime, he managed to have lots of fun.  No falling asleep for him because we sit by the band. :)  BTW...it actually is fun to sit by the band.  It adds the extra flare of the game.  And I love people watching so it is a great place to sit for that.

Jason ended up leaving at halftime to take Wyatt home to go to bed.  On the way out they saw Sparky.  As you can tell Wyatt was a little nervous to meet him but after a minute he was giving him five.  The whole way home he was telling Jason how nice Sparky was and that he gave him five.  In fact, it was the first thing he told me the next morning when he woke up.

Every once in awhile I will catch him chanting, "ASU. ASU."  It is so adorable.  But I always make sure he chants, "BYU. BYU." afterwards. :)  It looks like he had a fun time.

I love to see the temple.....

As I noted earlier we went to the Gilbert Temple site the other week for FHE.  It was so fun and Wyatt loved it.  He is so excited for when Moroni will be up.  It was neat to see what the grounds and the inside will look like.  Jason and I plan on being tour guides so if you have any hook ups, well, hook us up.  Now everytime we drive by (usually on our way to Costco or San Tan) he talks about how Moroni will be up hopefully around my mommy's bday.  (that is what they told us).  It is so cute to see him so excited.  I can't wait to take him to the open house.

Friday Plus-Oct. 14th

Here are the pics for the week:

This week Wyatt was supposed to take a nap but we walked into this scene once "naptime" was over. Two days of this. I need to give him credit that one of the days he actually did fall asleep but the other one was just a party in his crib. He threw his animals all over the place. He made sure to let me know how he did it. I told him that the animals may be making their departure if it continues. Fingers crossed!  This is my favorite picture even though he was a stinker.

We went to Red Robin for dinner. Wyatt and I were looking at the machine where you can catch a stuffed animal with the claw. I told him it was broken because who wins at those things anyway. Definitely not me! Anyway, this boy had three animals and I asked him if he won all of them here. He did. I told him he was AMAZING because that is unheard of. Well, the boy decided to give Wyatt one of his animals. How sweet! There are still caring, giving people out there. And Wyatt loves it to pieces already.

Speaking of Red Robin, while we were there Jason always gets a side of ranch with his fries. All of a sudden he started to squirt ketchup in the ranch. I seriously gave him the nastiest look and asked him why he was doing that. He told me not to worry about it. A minute later he said he was making fry sauce. Obviously, he is not a Utah native because anyone who is anyone knows it's mayo and ketchup. I could not stop laughing the rest of the night. In fact, I'm still chuckling over this one.

Friday Plus-Oct. 7th

Here goes another week. Sigh. It's finally cooling off so I'm happy for another week to go by. I got to wear jeans today so I am one happy gal.

I went to the ASU game. My husband has one season ticket where he goes with my brothers and BIL, but he had something that night so I told him that if he couldn't go, I was his go to person. So, I hitched a ride with my brother and went to the game. It was a fun game but I stayed out WAY past by bedtime and was tired the next day. It was worth it though.

Here is what I have for breakfast every morning. Can't live without my green smoothies!

This past Monday for Family Night we went to go see the new LDS temple being built in our area. There is a visitor center where you can learn about the architecture, see pictures of the inside, and hear the missionaries speak of the temple. It really has come a long way. We are excited to see the rest of the progress.  Another post is yet to come with more pics.
