The twins are four months old. And with that age comes sickness. Do all babies get sick at 4 months because that's when Wyatt got his first cold? Well, I'm thinking they do because all three of mine have. :)
Here is what is happening at four months:
Elizabeth
-still fights sleep but is getting better putting her down.
-LOVES to scream out loud with excitement
-kicks and waves her arms like crazy
-gives the best smiles and giggles especially at bathtime
-has rolled over from tummy to back a few times and is so close to rolling from back to tummy
-my good night sleeper
Liam
-got really sick (another post for that)
-still is the easiest and calmest baby
-smiles a lot more and interacts more too
-loves to cuddle
-occasionally can get a word, scream, or coo in between Elizabeth's rantings.
-loves to just relax or chill during tummy time. He is in no rush to get anywhere.
-my good day sleeper
Both babies love/do:
-when Wyatt plays with them
-toys
-chewing on fingers
-sleep 12 hours at night and still take 45 minute naps (4 naps/day)....Liam has been struggling with night sleep since he got sick so hopefully he gets back to his normal routine. :)
-eat about every 3 hours during the day
We just love our babies!

Safely gathered home
My mom used to say she couldn't really sleep until all her chicks were safely at home, even though many nights when I came home from hanging out with friends she would be dead asleep or so I thought. I didn't believe it until now.
This past week our sweet Liam was admitted to the hospital for dehydration. Needless to say no one got much sleep that night. I tried to sleep but knowing my baby was getting poked, proded, and not knowing what was wrong with him kept me from entering dreamland.
Once the IV kicked in he became his normal, calm self and was smiling to anyone who would look his way. It was a good thing Jason was the one to take him that night because I'm not sure how I could handle seeing him get the IV in. Plus, I would have been bugged when he was all smiles at 10 pm. :)
The next morning when I showed up my Liam was his normal self. I had missed him so much and it was nice to see life back in him.
We had a long few days at the hospital. I was so bored and was so thankful for my phone. Luckily I had my favorite people come visit. Everyone missed Liam!
We came home and love the sweet spirit that Liam brings into our home. We are so happy he is okay. It's a lot easier to sleep knowing all your chicks are gathered safely at home.

Wise words from my hairdresser
We all know how hairdressers sometimes act as our own personal counselors. They mostly just listen to whatever is on our minds that day but sometimes they give advice.
My last appointment was no different. As I explained my woes of dealing with two babies, she listened intently. You see, Miss Elizabeth was having problems falling asleep on her own. I had to spend more time than I wanted to bounce her to sleep to ensure they slept together and I had a whole naptime to play with Wyatt, get things done, or do whatever.
As we sat there waiting for my hair to process I waited for her reply. You must know a few things about my stylist. She a) is a woman of few words. Yes, I do most the talking while there. And b) is not a newborn person like myself so coming from her meant a lot.
She said (I'm paraphrasing) "Don't worry about it. She will get it. They grow up so fast. Now that my kids are older I don't regret rocking them to sleep one bit." I'm not sure if she was choking up a bit or if she had something in her eye but I felt it. I felt the shake in her voice and saw the glisten in her eye that taught me that day. Taught me to just enjoy it.....all of it. Even every bounce to put Elizabeth to sleep or comforting sick babies. Every last second.
So I started to. And guess who started to go to sleep on her own better? I guess she was waiting for me to relax. :)
So when you find a good hair stylist you stick with her.

Peaceful trips
Jason has been traveling A LOT for work. I swear he is gone almost every other week. And when he is he tries to only be gone a night or two. Lately it's been Monday thru Thursday. Sigh, Btw-if he isn't home before bedtime I count it as another day. :)
Anyhoo, we try to "flirt" and send pictures of us throughout our day (especially when he is gone). He sends me nice, peaceful pictures of the airplane, the city landscapes, etc.
One particular trip he sent me a pic and he said, "It's a beautiful, sunny day here. Love ya. Hope you have a good day."

Obstacle courses and forts
This is how Wyatt spends his time while I bottle feed the babies.
Obstacle course: run on pillows, climb red mountain, run around through tr kitchen, crawl through space behind couch, do a somersault, then come kiss me.
He loved it and did it a million and one times.
Next, we built a fort and he played with the iPad in there. Once again....he couldn't get enough.
Love my Wyatt!

New toys
Here are the twins playing in new exersaucers....okay new to us. They are on loan for awhile but they couldn't be happier. And I'm happy to because I don't have to store them. Ha!

Poor babies....sick or not!
Sweet Liam is so calm. Every naptime I wrap them both up, take Elizabeth up first so she has some time to cry in the crib, then come down to get Liam. Often times he is just lying there calmly or already asleep. He usually falls asleep on the way up. Best baby ever!
But when he was extra fussy and waking up all night I knew he had an ear infection. He just finished having a cold so it was very logical. Sure enough went to the dr and it was on the verge so he gave me the Rx. The very next day guess who else is acting up?
Miss Elizabeth.
They are pretty in sync but just wish it was the same day. :) Elizabeth was just "spitting up" WAY more than normal and it was even a bit projectile. Not hitting the wall but enough that it was different to worry me.
Took her to the dr and come to find out she was just sick of eating too much. She decided she just wanted to cut back on some calories. Or the fact she was jealous Liam was getting held more.
I'm thinking the latter because she doesn't look that sick to me. :)
Either way it was kinda difficult trying to snuggle two sick (and not so sick) babies. But we made it through the rough couple of days and are almost back to normal.

Miss Piggy
Isn't this about the cutest picture ever? Wyatt wasn't chunky at all so it's kind of fun having chunky babies. I better get bulging biceps from this. :)

Motherhood message
Recently I watched/listened to the Mormon Message by Jeffrey R. Holland on Motherhood. You know, the one we have all seen while it floated around Facebook.
When it first came out I was in a different, more comfortable state of motherhood. One kid who was pretty easy for the most part. But we had our challenges too- especially wanting to add to our family but couldn't. So that message to me meant something different. It meant "You are a mom, even if it is to only one child. Cherish him!"
Well, our life has changed a bit since then. With the challenges that newborns bring for me and TWO of them to say the least. There are many days I want to rip my hair out mixed with the sweet tender moments.
My sister directed me to this message again. She said to listen for a specific part. So I did and LOVED it! (Thanks, Becca) It says that God didn't intend motherhood to be easy. He wants us to rely on him to help raise HIS children. He knows them best! Those aren't probably the exact words but it rang loud and clear to me that day.
So I often find myself praying more throughout the day because I really do need His guidance and patience to be a good mom.

Blessing Day for Twinsors
The twins were blessed on Sunday. It was a beautiful day: perfect weather, blessing, and enjoyed friends and family.
I'm so proud of Jason for being a worthy Priesthood holder. He did a phenomenal job despite being nervous. One is scary enough. :) Wyatt was excited to see ALL his cousins from both sides there that he just couldn't sit still for any of sacrament meeting. Lol
My mom took a few notes on the blessings:
Elizabeth
Know that you came from a loving father in heaven. Know of the
Excitement and love you bring to our family
We bless you with Peace and knowledge of the gospel
Seek to understand and love Jesus and accept him as your savior. We bless you with a desire to have an eternal family.
Make covenants In Temple
Love older brother And your mother and father
We know that You and Liam will have a special bond.
Liam
We bless you to be Strong and make good choices in life
Live the commandments
Be able to share the
Calm demeanor you have been blessed with and bring peace to others
To Unify your family
Desire to serve the lord In Any capacity he calls You to.
Desire to have an eternal family
Go to the temple and be sealed
Understand your role As a son brother and father
Seek to fulfill those roles
We bless you with
Peace throughout your life
Remember and follow the spirit
One of my favorite parts was in between the blessings when we were making the baby switch. All the men we love just standing there smiling and doting over our babies. Such a sweet moment. Our Bishop even laughed at how spunky Elizabeth was and Liam held his hand during his whole blessing.
Afterwards we had a big lunch at our house. My mom seriously made it possible. She shopped with me and we chopped up food the night before. It turned out fabulous! Thanks, Mom!
We are so blessed to have so many loved ones who support us. We are so grateful for a Heavenly Father to send two more special souls to our family.
