Friday Plus- Sept. 30th

First of all, can you believe it is almost October!  Yeah, me neither.  Time flies by so fast that I forgot to take lots of pictures to choose from.  Happy Friday!

Wyatt and I went to Costco to get one thing and just to browse.  That is trouble I tell ya but we walked away not spending very much. We spent heaps of time in the toy aisle and we may or may have not spent 15 minutes looking at just this.  If he is lucky it could be his bday or Christmas present.  I was lucky because there was a Blendtec demo nearby.  I already own the machine but was still mesmorized.  Oh, and I can't wait to make the Chicken Tortilla soup (pg. 168 in recipe book).

I bought drapes for the living room but am still deciding what mood I want.  I like both of them but I think I'm leaning towards the cream ones with the design.  You really can't see the color of the dark ones very well but it matches the color of the peacock pillow.

Here is my Halloween decor for this year.  I added a few elements this year that I love and got rid of some other ones that will never be used again.  Plus, I like every year to be slightly different.  Some new items were the owl (which believe it or not bought at Fry's), one of the lanterns, I made the new flower arrangement, and the printable I got off Pinterest.  All I got for really cheap so that is a bonus.

melts your heart

Wyatt loves to talk.  I know, I know. He got it from me.  So, sometimes in the car or at the table when we are eating he always says, "Talk to me mom."  So, I just start interviewing him.  It is the most adorable thing in this whole wide world.  One of these days I need to record it because it is classic.

Well, the other day I was interviewing Wyatt.  One of the questions I asked was, "What is your favorite thing about Mommy?"

He said, "Give hugs."

My heart melted.  And, yes, I gave him more hugs.

There you have it!

I still got it!

A few weeks ago this guy called my phone and left a message.  Several years ago I tutored his daughter in Math.  I'm talking like 6 years ago.  I'm shocked he still had my number.  Anywho, he wants me to tutor his other daughter who is now in sixth grade because his older daughter (the one I tutored) did really well in school.  She graduated with honors, etc.  He somewhat credited me.

I'll take it.  Ha!

Anyway, I called him back and told him that I was interested in the job but wanted him to know that I wasn't teaching full-time anymore if that mattered to him.  He didn't care.  I told him how much I charged and that he would have to bring her to my house.  Deal!

So, last week was our first session and today we have another one.  I feel like I already helped her last week catch some mistakes that she was making.  Easy peesy.  I hope it continues but not sure how long he will want to drive out to the QC every week.

At least I know I still have it in me.  What can I say, I was born to teach!  And it doesn't help that I'll have a little extra cash on hand too.

Friday Plus-Sept. 23

Friday Plus...here we go!

Call me the Queen of Burns because I am. Here is my latest burn from an iron while crafting. This is exactly why I NEVER iron anything. My husband buys wrinkle-free shirts and I use the spray. On occasion I whip out the iron and my husband whips out the video camera since it is a rare occurence around here.

I love having parties at my house because it forces us to do something to beautify it. This week we put together a gallery wall. After much perusing on Pinterest I came up with this. I already had all of these frames in my closet. I knew I kept them for a reason. :) I spray painted the big Ikea frame to make a chalkboard for signs for our many parties. And now I just have to add pictures to the frames and get a sign above the "empty frame" that says Est. 2005 (the year our family started) or something from Rod Works. Anyone have an etsy shop?

We got a tramp this week. Correction. My husband came home with one and I about flipped. It's our "Family's" Christmas present. Christmas is in four months. Doesn't he know I'll need want something by then? It's actually been fun but we are just saving our little pennies to put it in the ground because it is just neater, more pleasing to my eye. Here is our son showing off his skill of a somersault he does in his sports class.

Friday Plus- Sept. 16

Another installment of Friday Plus. Ready, Set, and Go!

My son loves to cause trouble and play Trouble. He isn't that great but he is getting better every day. Yes, we play this game every day. ** Sigh.** I think he needs more games. Is he too young for Mah Jong?

Me just being silly with the camera.

I was cleaning my deep chest freezer out, okay, maybe checking to see what I had to work with for meals. In other words, I was seeing what I needed to make since I tend to forget about things in there. I decided to take pictures so I could remember. Things just tend to get lost. Anyone else have that problem? I think I need an upright freezer. :)

Rise to the Occasion

This is what our Saturdays look like...everyone sporting their BYU gear for game time!  Wyatt will find any excuse to be just like his daddy.  Plus, he is totally brainwashed in love with BYU.

Friday Plus-Sept. 9th

Here is another version of Friday Plus.  I am loving this series because it truly reminds me of my week.  I repeat this on my personal blog (from my fashion and other things blog) because I want to include these posts in my blog book for future reference.

We escaped the heat and went to Prescott for the Labor Day weekend.  We rode quads and went for a picnic to a berry patch.  We picked some wild blackberries and they were scrumptious!

I love it when I have help cleaning and vacuuming the house.

I tried a new hairstyle this week.  It took me longer to do this than straighten my hair.  As my sister and I were talking about my hair she said it was cute.  But not a minute later she was undoing it and started braiding it again.  At least she showed me an easier way to do it. :)  Love ya, sis.  Oh, and happy birthday today!

Friday Plus for Sept. 2nd

I have seen this idea on a few blogs and wanted to start trying it out.  They call it Insta Friday (for Instagram...a photo editing app for phone).  I prefer Camera Plus (thanks Mandy!) so I'm calling it Friday Plus.  All of the pics are from your phone over the past week.  It helps me remember our every day lives.  So, here is our first week in review:

I became a Walgreen's couponer this week.  I'm no pro by any means and I have a lot to learn but I decided to up my game and start doing one drug store as well as my usual Fry's.  Wyatt got to pick out a prize for being so good on our shopping trip.  As big as this sucker was, the price was just right!

We are constantly playing pirates every day of the week.  We try to defeat Captain Hook but sometimes he just gets the best of us.  We also do a rousing rendition of "Arrrr, the mateys!" while playing.

We had a few walls painted in our house.  Wyatt loved watching them work or watching paint dry.  Oh, wait...that was me!  I sat in the room after they were done in complete awe because I loved it!

There you go.  Another week bites the dust.
