Friday Plus-March 23rd

I made these "raw" cookie dough balls from a recipe off of Pinterest. Shocker I know! They are really good. Ingredients: almonds, pecans, oats, honey (I didn't have raw honey), cinnamon, vanilla, salt, and chocolate chips. YUMMY!

This past week it hailed in AZ! My son said, "Yeah, now Santa is going to come."

This is how you clean up when you can't bend down. Sweep it up!

First lesson of the season. I bought a Groupon for it because I'm not sure if lessons will happen in the summer with twins on the way.

                                                                          Have a good weekend!

How is it being pregnant with twins?

If I had a nickel for every time I got asked that question I would be a millionaire.  No joke!  It has been so long since I was last pregnant that it is difficult to pinpoint all the differences but I can name a few.

-more back pain
-WWIII sometimes with the punches, jabs, and kicks
-I breath more heavily now
-GINORMOUS!
-one on the bladder and one in the ribs or two on the bladder make standing up really fun. :)  Seriously, every time I stand up I must do it slowly because I'm afraid of what could happen next.
-restaurants are hard to eat at.  Still hasn't stopped me from going but I can't scoot in much and I really want to just hold my plate up to my mouth while sitting back on the chair.
-stares from everyone
-And my personal fav "You look ready to pop! When are you due?"  aka...you are freakin' huge.
I always say I'm due sometime in May and tell them I'm having twins.  Immediately they say, "Oh, you are small for having twins."  Make up your mind people.  Just a second ago you told me I was huge!
-more potty breaks
-sometimes I just can't get comfortable....church is THE worst!
-I feel like I have been in my third trimester for 6 months now.

I'm sure there are more but that will do for now.

Pregnancy cravings

I don't really remember craving specific things while pregnant with Wyatt but this pregnancy has been different.
1st Trimester- Chipotle
2nd Trimester- Cool Ranch Doritos and for awhile sweets because I had a feeling I was going to fail the glucose test.  I passed so all those extra sweets were for nothing!  But they were oh so good.
3rd Trimester- Salads and chewing ice.  I know, not good for my teeth but I crave it.  The other day I had a Sonic drink.  I came home and put some warm water in my styrofoam cup and it basically dissolved all the ice.  I was so mad.  My teeth thanked me that day!

What do you crave while pregnant?

Why must they grow so fast?

This past week I was sitting in a parenting class with my SIL.  She was telling me all about her teenage son how he was upset with her that day over her decision to let him do something.  This was the first time he had ever really been a "teenager" with her, you know, attitude, language, etc.  She wondered where her "cute boy" had gone.

I'm feeling the same way these days.

The other day I dropped Wyatt off at his "Preschool" Playgroup.  We call it playgroup around here but it is more like a Joy School.  It is with a few moms in the neighborhood and Wyatt loves it.  Heck, I love it too!  Anyway, we pulled up to the house and I opened the minivan door, from my seat mind you...gotta love the minivan.  I didn't even have to get out because Wyatt sat in his "special spot" since we were just in the neighborhood.  He hopped out and ran to the house with his backpack.  A feeling of pride swelled within me because I was so happy that he had confidence to go by himself.  But then I was a tiny bit sad to see him be such a "big boy."

I'm trying to train and prepare for the arrival of new little ones by getting my son to be more independent.  But at the same time I struggle with this.  I love that he is learning to do things by himself but that just means he is growing up.  Way too fast in my opinion.

Can we please push the pause button for awhile?

1...2...3..Kick and another Kick!

This little guy loves feeling the babies kick.  All of a sudden he will put his hand on my tummy to see if they are awake.  If he doesn't feel any kicks he always tells me that they are sleeping or having quiet time.  This may be the cutest thing I've experienced this pregnancy.

He then proceeds to tell me which side the girl is on then the boy.  And also points out where their milk is.  Breastfeeding is sure to be quite the fun times around here.

Living in the fast lane

After graduating from college, Jason traveled to Europe on a study abroad to study business.  They traveled to several countries looking at different businesses.  Well, many of the businesses just happen to be car companies like Audi, BMW, etc.  Ever since then Jason has dreamt of having a "sports car."  Well, that day has come my friends.

Last week we said goodbye to our good friend, Ole Greene.  Yes, I know it is a car but it has a lot of history.  Jason named it after Brigham Young's "hired" help and the car has had significance ever since.  We even had our first makeout in this car.  TMI?  Moving on.  Jason called me on his way home from work on Wednesday and said, "I sold the truck."  What?!  He can't do that to me.  I didn't even have a chance to say goodbye and neither did Wyatt.  Jason went back and forth on thoughts of selling our friend but last I heard was he wasn't going to sell it.  Wrong!

So, I had to pick him up at a bank and we said our goodbyes then.  Jason said, "Hurry and drive away before I cry."  I practically was in tears already. :)  Not really but it was sad to see someone else drive away with it.  Now, Jason understands how it felt when Seabiscuit died (my Subaru).

The very next day I had to take Jason to work.  Okay, not a fan of his commute AT ALL.  After work he had a friend drop him off at a dealership and he came home with an Audi.  Yes, he is living his dream of one of the cars he fell in love with in Europe.  He is one happy camper.  I must say, it is a nice car but I'm kind of an SUV gal myself so it's just a car to me.

But who can complain when you see your husband grin ear to ear talking and showing you all about his new car?  Not me.  He works so hard so he deserves it!

Friday Plus-March 2nd

Here is what we have been up to this week:

We have had a lot of picnic at the parks this winter and we can't complain. We love every second of it. Here is one of our picnics while feeding the ducks. You can't beat this weather!

I took the glucola test at the doctor this week. I hope I pass because I would hate to give up my carbs. This pregnancy I crave them.

I am a nerd! I have tinted, changing lenses on my glasses. I don't wear my glasses very much so one Sunday I came back in from taking the trash and wanted to see if they really were tinted. Lo, and behold, they do. I've had my glasses a long time but usually only wear them at night so I never get the chance to test them out.

My son's earnings for his chores. We are high rollers around here. He thinks the more the better so why ruin his thinking. It reminds me of the Shel Silverstein poem about trading in the dollar and ending up with pennies.

Objects in Mirror are Much Larger than they Appear

Seriously, my belly is much larger than this at 26 weeks.  Just ask my niece and the lady at the OB office.  People have been asking to see my belly and trust me when I say this, I look good in this picture.  I'm MUCH bigger in real life or even a different shirt.  I was just waiting to post a picture where I looked tiny because who doesn't like to be called tiny. Ha!

So, I have to tell a funny story or not so funny to me.  I went to my Dr. appointment yesterday.  I had to get the glucose test.  As I was sitting in the chair ready to get poked, the lady said, "So, you are about 28 weeks?"  I said, "No, 26 and a few days."  She said, "Oh, are you just big or are you having twins?"

WHAT?!?!?!

First of all, she works at an OB office seeing pregnant women all. day. long.  You would think she would know not to say such things but I guess not.  I almost wanted to tell my doctor on her.  Secondly, she had twins herself but still.  TREAD LIGHTLY AROUND PREGNANT WOMEN!!!

In other news, Jason said he will still love me even though I see stretch marks appearing.  See, I told you I was big!

He is a Pooper!

I never thought I would be able to say this but I think I can officially say our son is potty trained!  Yahoo!!!!  It took him about a month and a half.  Like I mentioned earlier, he got the "peep" thing (as Wyatt likes to call it while laughing) down fast, but the "poop" was a different story.  One of my friends said that no toy or gimmick worked for her boys.  It just had to one day click.  And that day came for Wyatt.

I think it is true.  It just had to click.  We were stuck on Sticker 2 on his Poo Chart FOREVER!  But then all of a sudden he didn't have any more accidents and he earned Buzz before we knew it.  Jason gave me the okay to buy Buzz because we were sick of accidents and thought they would magically disappear.  I wish I was there when he earned him.

We went to dinner at Red Robin on a Friday night.  He said that he had to go so Jason took him.  Wyatt told Jason he had to go poo while on the potty.  Meanwhile, I'm sitting in the booth wondering what is taking so long.  Jason said it was the funniest thing ever.  While Wyatt was pooping he kept saying, "YES! YES! YES!" over and over and "I get Buzz!"

Wyatt still remembers where he was when he earned Buzz.  Where were you?

And let's just say we are all happy as clams around here. :)
