Camel is the New Black

I recently read in a magazine that camel is the new black this season. Good thing because I'll be sporting this color on a monthly basis. I have officially been sworn in to the Cub Scouts with the classic watermelon chant. I'm on the Cub Committee so it's mostly the behind the scenes stuff but I went to my first Pack Meeting this week and let me tell you.....so fun!

Chants of yelling, "Eat the poop! Eat the poop!" and "Drink the Wolf's blood," rang throughout the gym. The den that did a skit was hilarious. So the caliber of that age group. You know, can't hear a word they said, some fighting involved, great costumes and acting, etc. It was so fun that I found myself laughing the entire night.

It takes me back to my teaching days. I think working with the cubs will help me relive those days ever so clearly: boisterous boys, skits, chants/songs (I used to do a lot in my classroom), and craziness. I was a ham in the classroom and Cub Scouts seems to be the place where I can do that too. The cheesier the better! I'm loving it....every moment!

Wyatt and I made up our own cheer. Goooooooooooooooo Scouts!

I love it! I was so terrified of scouts, but I ended up loving it. They are so enthusiastic about everything. I always said, "put peanut butter on a pine cone and they think you're the bomb". My favorite scout motto is "do your best". I always think of it when something doesn't work out just the way I want it to. I just say "I did my best" and move on! Camel is much better than light yellow, btw.
