So, our anniversary is officially here. Jason decided to surprise me by planning an all day outing. He told me I had to be ready by 1:15pm and that's it. I told him that I needed to know what we were doing so I could dress accordingly. He still wouldn't budge. He loves to keep things a surprise and I hate surprises.
Anyway, he blindfolded me and we started driving. I had a few ideas what we could be doing but still wasn't sure. I asked Jason if any of my ideas were right but he pretended like they weren't even close. After we had been driving for several minutes, I noticed that we were in major traffic. I wasn't sure which freeway we were on but I could hear the trucks all around me. Jason even called "the place" and said that we would be a few minutes late. Finally, Jason went off the freeway and drove on the streets. In the meantime, I was beginning to feel a little carsick (because I couldn't see anything). All of a sudden, Jason said, "Okay, we are here."
I looked and we were at the airport. He said, "We have to hurry because we are supposed to be boarding our plane right now so be prepared to run!" Right then I knew exactly where we were going....Las Vegas! But before that, you should have seen us running through the airport. I had my shoes off the entire time after the securtiy checkpoint. I'm sure we looked like the biggest dorks but we made our flight.
We were able to spend the afternoon in Vegas. We went to the spot where we got engaged and went to dinner in a nice cafe.
Jason said we were going to a show but didn't tell me which one until we showed up to the ticket booth. He got us tickets to the "newest" show in Vegas, The Phantom of the Opera. This production was really great! I'm not sure what they cut out but it was spectacular. I highly recommend going to see it if you just happen to be in Vegas.
After the show we walked around for a little bit and then caught a late flight home. Thanks for the best anniversary present, Jason!
