Lately, Wyatt is obsessed with his belly button. At his 15 month appointment the doctor asked me if he knew any body parts and could point to them. He knew ear and belly button....well, kind of. So, I decided I needed to work with him on that so every time I change his diaper we go over the body parts.
He had belly button and ear down but the belly button was actually his....uhem...how should I say this?....private part! It was really funny. In fact, I was showing Jason how funny/cute it was that I asked Wyatt, "Where is your private part (but I said the real word)?" and Wyatt went straight for it. Then I asked about the ear and he pointed to his ear.
Over the past month or so Wyatt has learned where the belly button in fact really is. He is obsessed now about lifting up his shirt even when I don't ask him where his belly is. He does it willingly and a lot! He loves to show other people too. I didn't show him this little trick. He just kind of did it on his own. He definitely is fascinated by his little Winsor gut (as I call it because many of the Winsor boys have the same gut).

He now knows where his heart is and makes a "pat pat" on his chest for heart. We are still working on the basics (eyes, nose, mouth) but at least he knows where some are. He loves looking at the face we drew together so hopefully one day he will pick it up.
Post edit: Wyatt actually knows where his nose is because I occasionally see him picking it a few times a day. He just doesn't know where it is on command. At least he knows where it is and having fun discovering it.
