So this is the week we have all been waiting for...AIMS. For those of you who aren't exactly sure what that means let me explain. It is the week that teachers stress out about all year and have nightmares that their students will forget everything they've learned. Today I had a major scare. One of my students did the reading portion in about 10 minutes, a test that usually takes the average joe 1 1/2 - 2 hours to complete. I had to talk to him about how important this test is and to make sure to do his very best. After a phone call (not to scare him but because I was frantic about what to do next) he decided to erase all of his "guesses" and at least try a few more passages. Phew!!!
During Part 1 of the Math test today, I had a student raise his hand to ask me a question. I walked over to where he was and I couldn't believe his question. He said, "Mrs. Winsor, can we use our notes?" Are you kidding me? I said politely, "No, sorry." I thought to myself...Good luck on the other parts of the math test buddy. Let's just hope that the others did much better. :)
