stay out of the kitchen

Many of you know that I have had problems in the kitchen when it comes to burning things. These things have nothing to do with the food but my body parts, actually just my left arm. Back in March I was making homemade pizza and managed to get a "little" burn on the top of my left arm. Luckily, my brother was in town (who I like to call "Doc") and told me that it was a third degree burn and that I needed to do something about it. Yeah, who knew? I thought it was just a cool looking battle wound. I had to scrape it until it bled morning and night then put some prescribed cream to help it heal. Well, the first time I had to scrape it I made Jason do it because he is much stronger than I and I thought it would go by more quickly. Well, Jason being the buff man he is scrubbed and scrubbed away...making it worse than it actually was. So, in the picture you will see a big circle (the one Jason made). The burn was actually just a little strip. The burn healed nicely and you can't even tell it happened.

Recently, I burned myself again in the kitchen making stir fry. I normally just use PAM but this time decided to include olive oil to help cook the chicken. Well, some of the oil decided to jump out of the wok and get on my arm. I think this was a 2nd degree burn. Jason said I am going to get a burn for every year we are married. I hope that this burn is for years 3-11 (I'm counting all of the little spots for each year). Maybe I need to just stop cooking dinner or at least stop being a pyro!

Wow I never knew cooking could be so dangerous.

The price my wife pays for excellence in cooking is sad, real sad.
