Are you smarter than a 5th grader?

At the end of every school year I make my kids do state reports. They actually LOVE doing them and learning about THEIR state. Their 3-D models were due this week so I took some pictures. Try to guess what state they did. No Cheating! Jason was actually able to name a few of these so good luck!(I'll put the answers at the bottom of the post to see if you are smarter than a 5th grader).

Answers:
1. Florida (Everglades...note the alligators)
2. Louisiana (boat for the Bayou)
3. Utah (Rainbow Bridge...definitely the most recognizable)
4. California (Redwoods)
5. New York (Lady Liberty)
6. Pennsylvania (Independence Hall)
7. Maine (lighthouses)

One last funny story about the 3-D models. So I was gone on Monday (when they were due) and came on Tuesday. I looked at one of them and thought, "There is no way this person put any effort into their project." It was just dirt and grass glued onto cardboard. Take a look....

So as I went around grading them I asked each kid how they made it and why they chose this particular landmark. When I got to Luis I couldn't wait for his reply. I was planning on not giving him full credit because it didn't look like much effort was put into it. But when he told me about his model I couldn't help but give him FULL credit. Why you may ask? He told me that his state is known for having a lot of empty land with no houses on it. He continued to tell me some other things about the land. He knew his stuff so he got full credit. Can you guess his state?
It's..................Wyoming!
