Big Boy

Ever since the day before Christmas Eve our little guy turned into a big boy! He has been inaugurated into his nursery and his crib. No more feeling left out sleeping all alone downstairs in the pack n play. We are so cruel! I had been transitioning him during the day to get used to it but have always felt that his room has to be the coldest in the entire house. A good friend said that she bought this space heater from Costco where you can put the temperature that you want and it would keep the room that temp. Beautiful! (We did have a mini heater but would have to turn it off when we were sleeping due to fire hazards).

Another saving grace has been this little noise machine that I bought for $1 at a garage sale. Worth its weight in GOLD! My sister had told me that she had one and she felt like she didn't have to bypass every creak or noise in her house. I think she got hers when her little guy was older so when I bought mine I thought that I wouldn't use it for awhile. Nope...we use it all the time! We just turn it on when he enters his crib for sleeping and turn it off when it is time to feed again. It has a timer for 15, 30, or 60 minutes but we just leave it running (to block out the passing train amongst other things). He sleeps better if it is constantly going. He LOVES it!

Both of these purchases have been worth every penny (all 100 of them) and I couldn't live without! There are many other baby products that we have that I heart, but I'll save that for another post.

I may have to go and find that little heater - my girls room is the coldest room in our house too.

I have never used a sound machine with either of my kids but my sister-in-law loves them and has used them with hers. I guess I never used them because I was afraid they would have to have it to sleep and that is what happened to my sis-in-law. Now her kids will NOT sleep unless there is a sound machine going and they are 2 and 5 years old. It is pretty funny to be camping and she has to have batteries to run the sound machine and she has to take it everywhere with her!

Sounds like you and I found a lot of the same little tricks. I use space heaters and noise machines in both of my boys' rooms. We even take the noise machines with us on vacation so that they get the same noises and sleep better. Some people (mostly family) make fun of me for being a hyper active mom but I don't care. I like my sleep too!

Ever since Casen was born we have had the humidifier on to help him sleep mostly for the background noise it makes. He's so adorable!!!

Amen to Arian! We have a little space heater and also a noise machine from day one. We also take it everywhere with us...and Jaxon sleeps great!
