Got Sleep?

Because we sure didn't last night! Last night was probably the worst night that we have had since Mr. W's birth. He just wouldn't sleep! I seriously don't know why and am wondering if it was something I ate. He has been a pretty good sleeper thus far. It is pretty normal for Mr. W to give us a three/four/or five hour stretch during the "normal" sleep hours. But last night was WEIRD! My mom has called every day and I get to report on how the night was. I usually have a fabulous report to give. I know Wyatt is trying his hardest and so are we. We made it through the night and have had a great day today so hopefully tonight is better.

I would like to dedicate our great nights to the Got Milk? campaign. The lactation consultant at the hospital said that the more we feed him during the day the more hours of sleep he will give us at night. Starting in the early evening I swear I turn into a dairy factory/cow because Wyatt is starting to store milk for the winter/night...whatever it may be! He gets hungry every 90 minutes or so. I don't mind right now...because it gives me more shut eye at night! I just hope that when he gets a little older he is more on a schedule. (I know....I just have to be patient and enjoy it now because in a short while I will wonder where my little guy went).

Oh, Kate. I feel for you. I totally remember those first few sleepless months. Good luck. And I know everyone always says it, but SLEEP when he does--even in the daytime.

He is just too cute, Kate!!! I hear you on the sleepless nights. Sometimes they just have those nights...just because. You are doing great!

It seems like all mine start to wake up around two weeks. I think this is totally normal. I am sure you are doing everything fine. He will just have awake nights. These are the sleepless months. He will slowly figure out day and night. You sound like you are doing amazing though!

I dreaded the evenings with Emma when she was a newborn, because it meant that I was topless nursing ALL the time and sleepless. I'm sure you hear this a lot, but it really does get better soon. I'm impressed that Mr. W is already doing so well for you! :) Love that little face of his! Can't wait to meet him on Saturday!

Get him on an eating schedule!!! Seriously, you start at about 4 weeks and it was the best thing I ever did for Jaxon and ME!

Unfortulately Kate, I was up a ton last night but not with my baby . . . with my two year old! Welcome to parenthood! I'm sure he'll become a champion sleeper in no time! Just hang in there!

Lisa and I did something wonderful in another life because the only kid we had that did not sleep through the night, every night, at 6 weeks was Daniel and that is because he had a heart condition and could get enough milk to make it through the night. I did not get up much with the babies so I don't relate well but I do feel for you. Good luck with that whole sleep thing.

yeah around 2 weeks babies seem to get up a alittle more. I remember when i had Nicholas a good night always followed a bad. I hope tonight is good one.

If it continues you might want to cut out Dairy or Chocolate to see if that helps. He is so cute and you seem really happy.
