I'm a believer....

As many of you know that while I was pregnant I probably read everything there was on the market about taking care of a baby. I seriously read EVERY book out there. A person could never be too prepared, right? My friends made fun of me but at least there weren't as many surprises. It still was tough but I had a glimpse of what was too come. Let's just say I knew it wouldn't be a fairytale.

Jason had to outlaw the books about a month into Wyatt's life. I was obsessed. Every book contradicted each other too. He was sick of me saying, "In the books it says this," or "I was reading in..."

Well, I just wanted to say that even though I really haven't read "the books" in a long time I'm sure glad I did. I'm definitely a believer of them.

I was thinking about this because this past weekend we had to share a room with Wyatt for the first time. For all of those moms out there that have their babies sleep in the same room as them, how do you get ANY sleep? Wyatt made so many noises and would kick in the middle of the night. I had to start wearing earplugs to drown out some of the noise so I could get some sleep. I could still hear him a little but I think it is because I've been "trained" to hear him.

In the books it says that sometimes babies wake up between 5-6 and play in their crib and then they go back to sleep for another hour or so. I'm a true believer! Wyatt really did this. I kept praying that he would fall back asleep every night. One night he never did and started making his "I'm awake" coo at 6 am!

So, for all of those people that thought I was CRAZY for reading the books, it wasn't all a waste of time. I knew that this was something that he might be doing every night but I just couldn't hear him from my bedroom. I only hear the things I need to hear....like when he is awake for good! I'm so glad to be back and for everyone to sleep in our own beds.

Welcome to my everyday world. Max has slept in a pack and play RIGHT next to our bed from the day he got home from the hospital. He's a great sleeper and all, but he has bad dreams. He'll scream out, kick, whatever, but he's totally still asleep. It makes for less sleep for me. Oh to have his own room someday. UGH! But hey, I'm glad all your bookreading was worth it. haha
