The Cave

Have you ever lived in a cave? Before I moved to AZ I only thought that is where bears go in the winter. Well, apparently in AZ, hibernation starts when the temperature rises.

"The Cave" is what I call when all of my blinds are closed all day and I don't get to see any daylight until I step outside. I don't know what is happening in the world around me. I feel lost.

For most of the year I get to look out my window and see green grass growing tall, birds chirping, basketball hoops (Wyatt is obsessed!), people walking by, lizards crawling up the wall, etc. But in the summer I see nothing but blinds/shutters!
Speaking of shutters, I'm not minding the cave much this summer because I get to see these beauties. We just had them installed and we are in love. Hallelujah! There are no longer nudists in the neighborhood. Yes, yes. Our Bishop lives behind us and probably could see our every move.

I love these shutters but I still long for the winter months when I can come out again.

You don't know how jealous I am right now. I have been dying for white shutters since I was nine. I think they are the most beautiful window coverings in the world. Seriously. I will not buy another house unless every window has shutters. I got a quote the other day and was shocked. enjoy those puppies. I LOVE THEM.

I love the shutters. In our new house the previous owners left lace curtains on all the windows and it is driving me crazy. What good are lace curtains - you can see everything through them. I can't wait to purchase wood shutters for our windows. I just need to save up the $$$ since we have so many windows to do though. I hope ours turn out as lovely as yours. Where did you get them?
