I know this is SO cliche to say but babies grow up way too fast. I can't believe Wyatt will be two this week. It has really hit me this past weekend that he is growing up. I remember when I complained day after day that he wasn't walking (you would too if your child waited until 18 months) but now I get a chuckle whenever he crawls around playing with cars.
He really is a big boy now.
Sure, he still wants to cuddle every now and then but he is growing up. Lately, when we get babysitters he doesn't scream for the minute we leave him. He just stares at the floor with a disheveled look on his face like "You are really leaving me with her?" When we first started getting sitters when he was a baby he would cry for 20 minutes. It got less and less but now it's a rare occurrence (okay maybe the past three or four times but like I said.....growing up).
Today was the kicker. The moment I realized that it is happening.
Usually after the sacrament prayer, Wyatt cries and cries because he knows he is going to nursery. Today, after the prayer, he looked up and said, "Class? Toys? Snack?" What? Since when do you like going to nursery? He actually loves it when he is there but hates the long walk there. Today, he practically ran there pulling me along.
Stop! I say.
(side note: Today they sang a Happy Birthday song to Wyatt in nursery. They told me he LOVED being in the spotlight. Hard to imagine that since his parents share that same joy. :) He also did not want to take off his birthday hat. He even wanted to wear it after class when we were out in the hall. Oh the attention! Silly monkey!)

I know. It's so sad. I keep telling Emma she is making me sad because she is turning 3. :) But, really these stages are the BEST. Gorgeous eyes in that pic! WOW.
I often tell my kids to stop growing. As hard as this stage is, I am sure glad I'm not dealing with teenage drama...
